Family Engagement Program
A family-centered, trauma-informed intervention, the Family Engagement Program is designed to foster partnerships with the parents and guardians of middle or high school-aged youth to boost their child's success.
Through four parent sessions, these important adults learn skills to support their child with the common challenges of navigating adolescence in today's world. Parents learn the importance of:
- speaking up
- listening
- expressing feelings
- building self-esteem
- Setting and monitoring goals
- offering needed support

Join us for a 2-session live, online advanced training to learn how to implement this long-awaited companion to our evidence-based prevention programs!This research-based program outlines the important combination of speaking up, listening, expressing feelings, building self-esteem, and offering needed support. This strength-based model can substantially boost student success by instilling support in the home environment for all of the hard work the teens are doing in school or group.The Family Engagement Program is not just for RY and CAST families! This skills-based support program is the perfect compliment to any school or agency's SEL components, family liaison work, or parent outreach activities.Along with your training cohort, you will learn to:
- Recruit parents and guardians to Family Engagement meetings.
- Conduct meetings in person or virtually with these important adults.
- Utilize numerous program resources, including activity worksheets, slides, and meeting evaluation forms.
- Instill hope and confidence in the families of teens.
Included MaterialsEverything you'll need to use this Program is included! Registration includes a curriculum set and practical application exercises. Each participant will receive a Virtual Binder including the research foundation for each session topic, individual and group activity worksheets, “homework” assignments, references and useful resources, logs for staff interaction with families, a class evaluation form and more!
